Foreword from the Dean
In today´s world, universities focused on economics and management face tough competition. More than 20 public and private business schools offer such education in the Czech Republic and the competition from schools abroad is even stronger. What distinguishes top-class business schools from the average ones? It is a high level of education supported by quality scientific and research, strong relations with the business sector, and intense international cooperation. Top-class business schools recruit the best students while employing excellent lecturers and researchers. Moreover, they develop partnerships with the most successful companies.
The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the University of Economics, Prague aims to be ranked among the most cutting-edge European educational institutions. We strive to prepare outstanding future managers. They acquire excellent knowledge and skills in the fields of management, corporate finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, sales, human resource, logistics, and other areas in order to excel in the international labor market. To our business partners, we offer cooperation in education, research, and science. Our educators are provided with the space to realise their creative educational and research activities. We primarily focus on the international scale of our activities – education in foreign languages, student and teacher exchanges, and international research projects.

Science and Research
The FBA is involved in a variety of research; from basic to applied and contractual research. As a university that puts more emphasis on research in recent years, we require our basic research to be published in economic, business, management, entrepreneurial, and other field-specific journals, with a arge preference for pubishing in high-quality journals. The FBA’s researchers have recently published in journals such as Frontiers in Psychology, Regional Studies, Journal of Management Inquiry, or Information Processing & Management. The FBA’s academics are engaged in many Czech and international research projects in the field of management and business. Currently, our activities include projects by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic or the Cultural Pathways to Economic Self- Sufficiency and Entrepreneurship: Family Values and Youth Unemployment in Europe (CUPESSE) project from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Program.
FBA faculty take part in professional associations such as the Academy of Management, the European Academy of Management, the International Association of Applied Psychology, the Academy of International Business, the Project Management Institute, and many others. A relatively large number of the FBA’s researchers participate in contractual research and consulting projects for companies and other institutions. Among the FBA’s clients are many Czech SMEs, but also larger companies, such as Škoda Auto, Česká spořitelna, AXA, or Seznam.
The FBA provides an executive MBA program accredited by FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation).
This international accreditation attests to the high level of education at the FBA, which is in compliance with demanding international requirements. The MBA program is regularly placed as one of the top MBA program in Eastern Europe in the prestigious Eduniversal Best Masters & MBA’s ranking. The main criteria are the reputation of the program, the opportunity for career development, and salary in
graduate’s first job after graduation. The FBA also provides customized and open education programmes. Its clients include Metrostav, T-Mobile, TEVA, or the Ministry of Social Affairs. In addition, the FBA offers its Honors Academia program – a superior two-year education and training programme managed in a close relation with corporate partners.
Relations with the business community are one of the top priorities of the FBA. The school has contracts with over 50 corporate partners.
These include BD Advisory, T-Mobile, Unilever, Apogeo, Metrostav, Plzeňský Prazdroj, Škoda Auto, HILTI, EY Advisory, Google, LEGO, HOPI, PWC, L’Oreal, Procter & Gamble, Deloitte, Microsoft, Mary Kay, ČSOB, Ahold, FINEP, RWE, PRE, or Havel Holásek. The FBA also has partners among cultural and artistics institutions including the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the National Museum, the National Heritage Institute, or the Theatre Institute. The companies´ managers are involved in teaching, provide consultations for Bachelor’s and Master’s theses, offer internships, organize educational trips, and participate in the FBA´s research activities. Quite a lot of courses are even led by practitioners themselves. For example, Shopper Marketing is taught by the vice-president of POPAI Central Europe, Marketing Research is taught by the CEO of Millward Brown CEE, or Growth Strategy is provided jointly by the FBA and Arthur D. Little.
The FBA’s graduates are highly rated by employers. Recent the nationwide “School Recommended by Employers”, ranking FBA was rated as the best economics school in the Czech Republic. According to the representatives of 230 top employers, the FBA has the best-prepared graduates for the current job market of all Czech business schools.
