Management summary Feasibility study of in-plant transportation optimization in Chempark site – preparatory phase for follow up projects (Project sponsored by Orlen Unipetrol RPA)
The aim of the project was to assess the feasibility of the measures proposed in the previous study with a view to mitigating transport risks and eliminating bottlenecks within the Chempark site. The research team mapped the key departments’ perceptions of the changes through focus groups. This method proved highly effective in identifying and analyzing the attitudes of key stakeholders toward the proposed changes based on discussion and their behavior.
During the individual meetings, the following key issues were primarily discussed: safety and legal issues, transport risks at the gates and within the plant, traffic intensity and its development, and internal bus transportation.
The project results present a framework of changes aimed at reducing transport risks, limiting traffic intensity on the premises, optimizing bus transport, and ensuring parking capacity.
The outputs are primarily intended for the logistics, facilities, and safety and security management teams at Orlen Unipetrol RPA.
