FBA Earns Prestigious EQUIS Re-accreditation For the Next 3 Years
The Faculty of Business Administration /FBA/ has successfully passed the EQUIS reaccreditation process and remains the only faculty in the Czech Republic with this prestigious international institutional accreditation. The certification has been granted for another 3 years.
The faculty thus claims its turf alongside the best business schools such as HEC Paris, London Business School, ESADE Business School or the University of St. Gallen. With EQUIS accreditation only awarded to 1% of faculties out of about 15,000 business schools or faculties globally, this is a significant achievement of the faculty.
The faculty received EQUIS accreditation in 2017 for three years. And it has regularly managed to obtain re-accreditation in subsequent three-year periods. The FBA began its latest re-accreditation process in 2025. As part of this process, an EQUIS Peer Review Team consisting of Prof. Stewart Robinson (Dean, Newcastle University Business School, UK), Florence Legros (ICN Business School, France), Paul Pavlou (Miami Business School, University of Miami, USA), Max Becker (Associate Partner, CGZ Consulting Group Zurich, Ltd., Switzerland), aimed to assess whether the faculty meets the requirements to be EQUIS re-accreditation worthy. The committee evaluated the faculty’s self-assessment report and conducted in-depth interviews with the faculty and VSE management, staff, students, alumni and corporate partners.
The EQUIS accreditation board decided on the reaccreditation at a meeting on May 22, 2026.
In the evaluation report, the commission once again highlighted the above-standard connection of the entire Faculty of Business Administration with practice. It also appreciated the great progress in the quality of research. FBA academics are successfully publishing in the most cited scientific journals Q1 and Q2. The commission also recommended that the faculty further develop the offer of executive education for companies and thus build on its successful executive MBA program.
The EFMD only awards the EQUIS accreditation to faculties with excellent teaching, high-quality research, a high degree of internationalisation and strong links with practice. The primary goal of the accreditation is to improve the quality of management education worldwide. EQUIS strives to balance high academic quality and professional relevance, ensured by close collaboration with practice. Among other things, faculty management processes, the quality of the curriculum, the quality of the learning process, the quality of academic staff, the quality of research activities, the quality of executive education, financial management, the ethical dimension of education, international overlap or interconnectedness with the corporate world are evaluated.
