About the Research Club

The goals of the Research Club are to allow for sharing experiences, tips and suggestions of experienced researchers with all interested Ph.D students and employees, and to provide support in order to improve the quality of publications published by the Faculty members in an informal and friendly environment.

  • 21. 5. 2025: SuperApps are not Digital Platforms (Murat Levent Demircan, Associate Professor at Galatasaray University and Director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center)

Theme: Superapps integrate various digital services into a single platform and change the way users interact with technology. The seminar focuses on their role as both services and platforms that connect users with partners in different industries. Using examples such as WeChat and Alipay, it shows how these applications create an efficient market environment. Superapps thus shape the future of digital innovation and disrupt traditional business models.

 

  • 15. 5. 2025: Kissing or Killing the Kid: How a corporate accelerator can be reborn to please its parent  (Ferhat Demir, researcher in workplace research, innovation management, open innovation, and corporate startup collaboration)

Theme: Unlike startups, large corporations often struggle with innovation. Corporate accelerator programs can help harness startup innovation, but they require clear goals and alignment between management and the implementation team. This study presents a framework for restructuring an accelerator to deliver results in line with the company’s vision. It is the first attempt to resolve internal misalignment and reshape an inefficient running program.
