Full course description:

Green & Sustainable Ecosystems offers a deep dive into the field of sustainability, aiming to develop a comprehensive understanding of green initiatives and the complexity of ecosystems. This course is designed to challenge and refine your critical thinking skills, enabling you to critically evaluate information and form, interpret and discuss informed opinions. Through interactive lectures and insights from industry experts, you’ll explore the environmental, economic and social benefits of sustainable ecosystems. The curriculum includes engagement with the MIT Climate Simulation Game, reflection, and a variety of workshops that provide hands-on experiences that highlight the impact of human activities on ecosystems and strategies for sustainability.

Course aim

There are two goals of this course. First, the course is designed to empower students to understand the fundamentals of green initiatives and the complexity of ecosystems as a whole, the variety of stakeholder views and opinions that interact in the space of sustainability. Secondly, the course is designed to allow students to think about the issues and realize their complexity and develop your critical thinking skills, your ability to evaluate the quality of information sources in order to form, interpret and discuss their opinions.
