Professor Jiří Hnilica Will Be New Dean of Faculty of Business Administration
On March 30, 2022, the Faculty of Business Administration Academic Senate elected a new dean. Prof. Jiří Hnilica won in a secret ballot the votes of all 16 present members of the faculty Academic Senate. He will be appointed by the Rector of the Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) with effect from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2026. After two terms of office, he will replace Prof. Ivan Nový.
Prof. Hnilica served as Vice-Rector for International Relations at VŠE for two terms. He worked at Faculty of Business Administration from 2009 to 2014 as Vice-Dean for Pedagogy, and since 2014 he has been the Head of the Department of Strategy at the faculty. He is also the founder of the Center for Family Businesses. His professional specializations include family business, strategic management and corporate governance. He is a member of the Family Firm Institute and holds an Advanced Certificate in Family Business Advising. He teaches a Czech and English master’s course on family business strategies and leads a research project on the role of family business owners together with the French EDHEC Business School.
