Academic Year 2014/2015 flashbacks

vse_letniJune 2015 – CEMS Alumni Soirée took place on the university premises. The Alumni of the CEMS / International Management Programme that is organized by the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), CEMS corporate partners representatives and CEMS lecturers met. In total, CEMS programme at FBA has 423 alumni from the years 1998 – 2014. Photo gallery from the last Soirée is available here.

May 2015 – FBA was visited by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) member since the faculty is in the process of applying for its accreditation for International Business Schools EQUIS.

April 2015Central European Business Review (journal administrated by FBA) applied for evaluation by Scopus for possible indexing. Its target audience includes academics, researchers together with senior management of corporation’s member and ambitious entrepreneurs managing growing enterprises.

March 2015 – Based on the university exchange programme selection process for academic year 2015/2016, more than 90 FBA master´s programmes´ students were selected to spend a semester abroad. For the university bachelor´s exchanges, more than 30 FBA students were selected.

February 2015 – The deadline closed for talented and highly motivated students from all over the world to apply for CEMS/ International Management programme. In total, there were 119 applicants from 26 countries; 80 applicants were selected to the assessment center (2nd stage of the selection process) with 50 applicants being accepted. Their enrolment deadline is July 3, 2015.

January 2015 – MBA programme offered by International School of Business and Management within FBA ranked as third by EDUNIVERSAL Best Master Ranking 2014/2015 in MBA category in Eastern Europe.

December 2014 – The FBA Academic Senate authorized the founding of the Department of Entrepreneurship, being effective 1st January 2015. Members of the department are prepared, besides other activities within education field and in collaboration with the newly established university business accelerator XPORT to lead its students from the moment of inception of a business idea, through founding of an enterprise and controlling its growth.

November 2014 – Breakfast with the Dean concept initiated. The informal debate between the FBA Dean, Prof. Ivan Nový, and its students included the topics such as minor specialization changes or initiated closer links between the private sector and the FBA resulting in higher level of studies practicality. The meeting is scheduled to take place regularly once a semester.

October 2014 – Memorandum of Understanding signed between FBA and School of Management and Law – Zurich University of Applied Sciences. The cooperation will focus on doctoral studies and exchanges within International MBA programme offered by FBA in English.

September 2014 – FBA’s programmes placed in the Financial Times Master in Management Ranking 2014, namely CEMS master´s programme ranked as fifth while the Business Economy and Management placed in 69th position.
