Science and research from the content point of view primarily focuses on economics and management of business sphere in a wider socio-economic context of the Czech Republic and EU. They focus not only on theoretical, methodological, but also on empirical side of functioning and management of subjects of the microsphere.

All academic and research activities primarily support the fundamental strategy of FBA with an emphasis on their use in teaching and in the business environment. Research activities are managed by Vice-Dean for Science and Research and supported by the Research Support Center. Research activity is an integral part of all our academics’ duties; it is included as a part of regular annual assessment of the faculty’s staff.

From an organizational form and financial support point of view, the faculty prefers institutional support from international and Czech Science Foundations. There are various forms of academic research activities, issued and in case of acceptance, financed from the issuer’s funds (in the case of national projects financed from the funds of the state budget) on the national level and on the international level too.

Most research activities are applied to the business sphere and public administration. The faculty publishes Central European Business Review (CEBR) (online ISSN 1805-4862), a peer-reviewed journal focused on Central European strategic management issues.

Faculty members are involved in the Executive Board of Prague Economic Papers, which is indexed in Thomson Reuters products.

FBA develops pedagogical research and coordinates the “Support of development of young academic professionals at the beginning of their professional career”. The faculty also organizes counselling activities for students and academic staff as part of the “Academic psychology consulting”.
